Privacy policy

We collect nothing. There is no server to collect it with.

ZERØ runs a language model on your own phone. Your messages are never transmitted, because generating a reply does not involve the network at all. This policy is short because there is very little to describe.

Effective 21 August 2026. This is version 1.1 of this policy.

What we collect

Nothing. No account, no email address, no name, no phone number, no device identifier, no advertising ID, no location.

The app contains no analytics, no telemetry, no crash reporting and no advertising code of any kind. There is no ZERØ server for it to report to, and we have not built one.

Where your data lives

On your device, and nowhere else. Conversations, messages, your settings, your system prompt, the MiniShrink session notes and the kid-safe PIN are all stored in a single database file inside the app's private storage on your phone.

Downloaded models are files in the same private storage. The eight library packs ship inside the app and are written into that database on first launch; they are never fetched. There is no cloud sync and no backup to us. If your phone is backed up, that is between you and Apple or Google, under their terms, not ours.

What leaves the device

Two things, both of which happen only because you tapped something.

  • A file download. When you choose a model, the app fetches it from Hugging Face: the chat model, and optionally the recall model. That request contains what any file download contains: your IP address and your device's request headers, seen by Hugging Face under their privacy policy. It carries nothing about you and nothing about your conversations. It happens once per file. The library is not in this list: it already shipped with the app.
  • A link you tapped. The Get help screen has a link to findahelpline.com. Tapping it hands the address to your browser. Nothing about your conversation goes with it, and the app itself makes no request to that site.

That is the complete list. Nothing you type is ever transmitted. Not to us, not to Hugging Face, not to anyone. Put the phone in airplane mode and the app still works; only the downloads stop.

What we can see

Nothing. We do not receive your messages, we do not know that you use the app, and we could not identify you if we were asked to. There is no database on our side to search, no logs of your use, and nothing to hand over in response to a request. This is not a promise about how we behave. It is a description of what the app is built to do.

Children

Kid-safe is a container a parent sets up with a PIN. Everything above applies to it unchanged: nothing a child types leaves the phone.

One thing to know rather than discover. MiniShrink writes a few lines of notes to itself after a session, and inside kid-safe those notes can be read by whoever holds the PIN. The app shows the child a standing line saying so, and the model is instructed never to tell a child that what they say there is a secret.

What happens if you delete the app

Everything goes with it. The database, the conversations, the notes, the settings and the downloaded model files are all inside the app's own storage, so removing the app removes them from your phone. There is no copy anywhere else, because a copy was never made. Nothing is retained, because nothing was ever received.

You can also delete things without deleting the app. Settings has separate controls for deleting all MiniShrink data, deleting every conversation, and forgetting session notes individually or all at once. Models can be deleted from the download screen.

This website

The site you are reading makes zero third-party requests. No analytics, no tag manager, no tracking pixel, no embedded video, no fonts or images loaded from anyone else's server. It runs no JavaScript at all, sets no cookies, and stores nothing in your browser. Not local storage, not session storage, nothing. Every page is a file of HTML and one stylesheet.

Our host records the ordinary web-server access logs any host records, an IP address and a request line. We do not read them, do not analyse them, and have added nothing to them.

Changes

If this policy changes, the effective date above changes with it, and the old version is replaced rather than quietly amended. Given what the app is, a change would most likely mean the app started doing something new, and it would be described here plainly.
